Can you provide more details on what the campaign is funding if it's not a full animated series?
This campaign is funding all-new content in the form of teasers and trailers, original graphic novels, animated shorts, etc., that set the stage for an epic animated series The Dragon King. We sometimes think of this as “The Path to The Dragon King,” because each reward and goal is a stepping stone bringing us closer to the most ambitious goal of producing the full series. Each stepping stone though is its own piece of awesome content that is made for our backers!

Where is the content/media that's created from this campaign going to be viewable?
All the goals and stretch goals from this campaign will be available to backers and will not require a subscription or any additional cost. You funded it! The exact platform for video content is yet to be determined but will be available via digital streaming (for example: YouTube/Vimeo).
In the event that the full animated series is picked up and funded by a streamer or network, they will have a say over how the series is shown on their service (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.) We just don’t know yet, stay tuned!
Until the series is picked up by a distributor, we will still release all the promised rewards and content to backers and will keep fighting the good fight to bring The Dragon King to our fans.

Will all rewards be fulfilled even if a complete animated series is not produced?
Yes, all pledge rewards will be fulfilled regardless of how many stretch goals were achieved or whether a full animated series is eventually produced. For example, the background character/creature design inspired by backers at the Archdragon levels and above will appear in a fully animated piece of Dragon King content. That could be in one of the teasers or animated shorts funded by this campaign, at a minimum, but could also potentially be much bigger if we get a greenlight to produce the series! The same logic applies to credits, in-person premieres/events and tours, behind-the-scenes updates, and voice acting roles.

How can The Dragon King be both a "new, standalone story" and also "Arc 3" of the original Dragon Prince saga?
We are writing the story such that if you have knowledge of The Dragon Prince and Mystery of Aaravos, then you will have a deeper experience – and there is a very specific intention of resolving the mysteries and cliffhangers that remain from the first two arcs. But this series also has a clear beginning, middle and end. It will be a great starting point for a new viewer, who may wish to go back and watch the earlier arcs at a later time.

When do I select which Primal Magic Enamel Pin I want (as part of the Mage pledge level)?
You will select which pin you’d like when you fill out your backer survey. Additionally, all of the primal pins are available as Add-Ons with any pledge, so you can add your other favorite primals or complete the set!

Will there be subtitles or dubs in other (non-English) languages?
All rewards and content from this campaign will be delivered in English only for now. The Dragon Prince has a very devoted global following, and we’re grateful to all of you! At our first opportunity we hope to localize future The Dragon King content into multiple languages.

Will I be able to choose my name as it will displayed in the credits?
Yes, on your backer survey you will be asked to provide a preferred name for inclusion in the credits. We reserve the right to not include a specific name for any reason, so obviously profane or derogatory names will not be allowed.

How do Credits (e.g., Nano Producer) work?
Backers will receive credit on Dragon King animation that is produced. That includes the Stretch Goals and rewards that are completed after the campaign closes (once backers are confirmed), and would also include future Dragon King animation that we make. For example, if Netflix greenlights the series then you will be included in the credits of the Netflix series, subject to all the usual distributor approvals.
Associate Producers and above will be credited in the end credits. Nano Producers will receive group onscreen credit (i.e., not individually named) in the end credits, but will be individually recognized by another means as yet undetermined (e.g., potentially a webpage). If we have full control and the means to do so, we’ll include the names of every producer in our credits!

What does Awards-Eligible mean?
Some credits (Co-Producer, Producer, Co-Executive Producer) may be eligible for entry in TV/Film industry award shows, such as the Emmy Awards, the Annie Awards, and Kidscreen Awards. This means that if The Dragon King is nominated and wins in a category that recognizes producers of your level, then you would also win the award. Each awards show has its own specific criteria for which titles are eligible to be included in a nomination.

Do backer rewards for in-person events (e.g., premiere or studio tour) come with a guest (+1) ticket?
Currently we’re not able to accommodate +1 guests for any events, including the in-person Screening/Premiere (Archmage and above) or the Vancouver studio tour (Cosmic Council and above). The only exception may be for minors who need to travel with a parent/adult, which will be accommodated on the backer survey.

Which countries can you ship physical rewards to?
We ship to a variety of countries but unfortunately will not be able to ship everywhere globally. If we don’t ship to your country, you can still pledge at the Friend of Bait or Bloodmoon Mage level (all digital rewards) and optionally add the Bait Plushie which we can ship (nearly) anywhere via our plush partner Makeship.
For all other physical rewards, we can ship to the following places:

Can I get any physical rewards if I only pledge at the Friend of Bait or Bloodmoon Mage (all digital rewards) levels?
Every pledge provides an option to purchase Add-Ons for specific physical rewards, including the Primal Magic Enamel Pins, 6 of the 7 Archdragon Coins (Stars is pledge level-exclusive), the Acrylic Block, the Playmat, the Bait Plushie, and 2 brand new items: a Lightning Storm Zym UV/3D metal pin and the Dark Magic enamel pin. As long as we ship to your country, you can select Add-Ons.

How old must I be to attend Digital Crew meetings or any in-person events?
Attendance and participation in any Digital Crew meeting is subject to the age requirements of the specific platform (e.g., Discord) where the event is hosted.
Minors cannot attend in-person events unaccompanied, and must make arrangements via the backer survey to ensure they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Will the main goal (Rayla and Callum teaser) and Stretch Goals only be available to backers?
It depends on the specific reward. Things like the graphic novel will be digitally distributed to backers only, while we hope to make certain content like the teasers available to as wide an audience as possible. We have one of the best and kindest communities in the world, and we want fans to be able to enjoy The Dragon King regardless of whether they can back the project at this time.

When will Stretch Goal rewards be delivered?
Each of the goal rewards is at a different stage of development – some are in early ideation still (like the animated short, likely coming in Spring or Summer 2026), while others may have VO recorded or animation in progress already. The Rayla and Callum teaser was certainly the furthest along which is why we were able to quickly finish and share it with you all given your rapid and generous support of the campaign! We’re working hard on all the awesome Dragon King content, with more getting unlocked with every Stretch Goal that is reached, and will make sure our backers are the first to know when they’re ready!

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
